Woodcom,Specialist in acoustic wood interiors has been AWARDED the supply and install of the acoustic wood interior cladding for the Quenn Elizabeth Hall to be renamed the Elizabeth Centre Antwerp
The joint venture team of Ian Simpson Architects (UK) , Kirkegaard Associates (USA) and Bureau Bouwtechniek (Bejgium) have developed a new design which will provide a world class concert hall and conference facility for the KMDA, The Royal Zoological Society of Antwerp and the Royal Flemish Philharmonic Orchestra.
The goal is to transform the older Queen Elizabeth Hall into a modren state of the art concert hall.The focus has been to create a venue to accommodate a wide range of performances,theatrical productions and conference activities with a capacity of over 2000 seats.
Woodcom was approved by Ian Simpson Architects and Kirkegaard Associates for the project construction by THV (temporary joint venture) Elizabeth,responsible for the construction and finishing of the project. This temporary joint venture consists of Willemen General Contractor, Heijmans nv and Verstraete & Vanhecke.
